Tabby, LM, CPM -- licensed midwife
Tabitha—better known as Tabby. She’s a passionate, certified professional midwife based in Mesquite, Texas, and a proud mother of three teenage daughters. Born and raised in the Stop 6 community of Fort Worth, Tabby’s journey into birth work is both personal and generational. From childhood, she dreamed of being a “baby doctor,” a vision her grandmother spoke over her life. What she later discovered is that midwifery truly runs in her blood—her great-grandmother was a trusted midwife in her Mississippi community, a legacy that continues through her work today. Tabby began her path in 2018 as a DONA-trained doula, supporting more than 150 births in hospitals and out-of-hospital settings, even during the height of COVID. That season revealed her deeper calling to midwifery, and she pressed forward with determination—earning her associate degree in Health Science and Midwifery in December 2024, passing her NARM exam in April 2025, and becoming fully licensed in Texas. Along the way, she attended nearly 100 additional births and trained with some of the most respected midwives and OB-GYNs in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Her heart for families extends beyond routine birth care—Tabby is also a bereavement and VBAC/cesarean support specialist, known for her compassionate presence in both joy and grief. She’s now pursuing her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Arizona College, with a long-term goal of becoming a certified nurse midwife and nurse practitioner, bringing holistic, woman-centered care to underrepresented communities, including the very neighborhood where she grew up. Outside of midwifery, Tabby is an avid homeschooler who pours into her daughters’ education, leads workshops for young girls, and serves faithfully in her church. Whether through sewing, crafting, or mentoring, her life reflects a deep commitment to nurturing others and creating spaces of care and empowerment.
