Inspiration Behind Twelve Royal Gems

I am the youngest of six siblings—the seventh child in a Mexican household shaped by deep-rooted traditions and the weight of generational trauma. I grew up surrounded by “love”, but also by cycles of toxic behavior passed down through unspoken pain.

I learned unhealthy behaviors early on—patterns I always knew I didn’t want to carry into my future. Yet unknowingly, I began to reflect some of the same toxic traits in my own life. These habits began to impact my mental, emotional, and spiritual health, and strained my relationships with others.

Growing up, I witnessed grief, abuse, addiction, brokenness, and a home out of order—where parental roles were confused and pain was normalized. Even as a child, I longed for something better. I spent much of my youth searching for healing and identity, navigating life through a broken lens and responding from a place of fear and trauma. My choices reflected that, and they came with consequences.

I wrestled with my mental health in silence, trying to figure it all out on my own—seeking God, but often in all the wrong places.

But it was faith in Christ that ultimately saved me. In my most fragmented seasons, I encountered the love of God in a way that redefined everything. Faith gave me language for what I was feeling, courage to confront what I had buried, and hope that healing was not just possible, but promised. It became the cornerstone of how I live, lead, and serve otehrs today.

As I grew older, I began to gain clarity about my identity and the values that shape how I live and lead. That awareness became a turning point—and it all started with one essential step: taking accountability. From there, the healing process began.

I confronted long-buried emotional wounds and began to unpack the layers of trauma I had carried for years. Raised in a cultural environment where mental health was often dismissed, accountability discouraged, and emotional needs left unspoken, I witnessed the lasting impact of unaddressed pain.

Over time, I came to understand that meaningful healing requires structure, self-awareness, and intentional action. Through that process, I found both healing and a renewed sense of purpose: to support women, young girls, and children in reclaiming their voice, processing their experiences, and moving toward emotional freedom.

I had to unlearn maladaptive patterns, challenge inherited beliefs, and redefine my understanding of identity and relationships. Through ongoing self-reflection and intentional growth, I remain committed to evolving each day—personally and relationally—without reverting to former versions of myself.

🌱Healing is not a one-time choice—it’s a daily commitment.🌱

After years of doing the inner work and serving in various mental health community settings, I was led to create this safe space—Twelve Royal Gems Women’s Mental Health. My hope is that it inspires you to begin your own journey. To heal. To grow.
